Ohio SILC members finishing their terms of serving on the board

This month the Ohio SILC has several members that will be finishing up their terms of serving on the board and would like to highlight them.

 
Kevin Flynn
Kevin Flynn has served two terms with the Ohio SILC where he was the SILC Chairperson for the last several years. Kevin is a graduate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he was an adjunct professor, recently retired from his law firm, and former City Councilmen for the City of Cincinnati, along with serving on several community boards.
 
Kevin has been a dedicated leader for the Ohio SILC, and all he has done to help advance Independent Living in Ohio will forever be appreciated.
Davin Radcliff
Davin Radcliff graduated from Ohio University in 2019 and has had a lifelong passion of disability advocacy. Davin found out about the opportunity to join the Ohio SILC after being a mentor for the Youth Leadership Forum where she was able to how her passion for engaging other youth with disabilities in leadership and advocacy. While on the SILC she was a Co-Chair of the Education and Outreach Committee and recently spoke at the Ohio Statehouse during the Council’s 30th Anniversary about the importance of youth involvement..
Gina Wilt
Gina Wilt served as a Senior Legislative Aide in the Ohio Senate for over a decade, which she was able to bring so much knowledge to her work as Co-Chair of the SILC’s Advocacy Committee. Gina also served as Vice-Chair of SILC for a term during her six years on the Council.
 
Gina works for the Coalition On Homelessness and Housing in Ohio where she serves as Advocacy Director.
Mirta Reyes-Chapman
Mirta Reyes-Chapman works as the Transportation Program Manager for the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments where she works on long-term planning projects in transportation for the region. She was the first Hispanic female in the Northeastern United States to be appointed as an Associate Staff Member of the Transportation Safety Institute to develop courses and trained governmental and public sector agencies in the United States on Transportation Safety and Security.
 
She previously served as a Delegate for the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics and assisted the College Board of Regents with addressing the Recruitment and Retention for Students with Disabilities at Youngstown State University.
 
She was recognized by the previous Governor John R. Kasich and received the Distinguish Hispanic Award from the Ohio Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs.
Rajai Saleh
Rajai Saleh brings over 10 years of experience working in the disability field, including advocacy work. She previously worked at Disability Rights Ohio and was a Coordinator for the Ohio Olmstead Task Force for many years. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Wright State University.
 
While working for the Olmstead Task Force, Rajai led the work of the HOME Choice Consumer Advisory Council, which helped provide input to the Ohio Department of Medicaid as they implemented the Money Follows the Person program. This program led to thousands of people with disabilities transitioning from institutional settings into the community.
 
During her time on the SILC, Rajai was a Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee.
Renee Wood
Renee Wood is an active leader in Ohio’s disability community.
 
She was awarded the Regional Advocacy Award by the National Council on Independent Living in 2020 for her advocacy efforts and work that advance the rights of individuals with disabilities. She is a past chair of the Ohio Olmstead Task Force as well as the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council. She is also the current chair of the board of the The Ability Center.
 
Her passion for disability rights helped lead to recent changes in increasing the representation of individuals with lived experience on the County Boards of Developmental Disabilities.
