Grants and Requests for Proposals
The Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) has funds available for nonprofit organizations that serve individuals with disabilities. Through the grants, organizations will support Ohioans with paralysis, and their family/support systems, to increase the education and development of skills needed to appropriately respond in the event of an emergency/disaster including preparation, response during and recovery in the aftermath. There is $140,000 in funding available for this project.
Through this project individuals with paralysis will have greater understanding of the preparation steps needed and the potential impacts to not planning ahead in case of a variety of emergencies. The organizations that will provide services will use multiple methods to inform and instruct individuals on the preparation for any potential situation that may arise.
Applications are due September 30th at 5:00
